We are a partnership of three experts that specialize in high power single-frequency solidstate laser technologies. Craig Denman and Paul Hillman, formerly of the Air Force Research Laboratory, are the inventors and developers of the world’s most powerful single-frequency laser at 589 nm. Tom Kane, formerly of Lightwave Electronics and JDSU Commercial Lasers, is the inventor and developer of the NPRO single-frequency laser technology.
Guidestar Lasers
Our passion is the further development of high power 589 nm single-frequency lasers for use by astronomers as “guidestar lasers.” Our design, based on well-established Nd:YAG laser technology, has the highest demonstrated power (over 50 watts) and a long history of fielded use (over 5 years installed and routinely used at the U.S. Air Force’s Starfire Optical Range.) We seek partnerships with observatories to build, install, and maintain guidestar laser systems.
Single-Frequency Laser Technology
Our team has a unique set of skills related to the design and manufacturing of high power single-frequency lasers. We are also broadly skilled in techniques for the efficient frequency conversion of lasers and in the design of extremely stable and low-noise lasers.
